Every PAVE student receives a laptop, charger, and carrying case with a shoulder strap to use while attending PAVE upon acceptance and set up for usage is complete. If students unenroll in PAVE, the laptop, charter, and carrying case with shoulder strap need to be returned to the PAVE office immediately.

Laptop Troubleshooting

When should you clear your Cache and Cookies and/or Browser History:

Having trouble logging in to the online platform?  Try clearing your browser history and/or cache and cookies if your laptop is doing any of the following:

• continually loads or redirects – “Redirecting…Please wait”

• navigation between pages is slow

• pages load but missing information

• Browser error messages

• Getting booted out of the OLS or LMS

• After a planned maintenance outage

• After an unexpected outage

Restart your laptop every once in a while, as it needs time to reboot itself.

How to Clean Your Laptop

To clean the screen:

• Use a dry, lint-free screen or glasses cleaning cloth.
• Use very light pressure. Pressing too hard can damage the screen.
•  
• If there are streaks that won't clean with a dry cloth. 
  • You can use a screen cleaner cloth or screen wipe made for computer screens.
    • Do NOT use baby wipes, Clorox wipes, or other household wipes. The solvents and oils can leave a residue or damage the screen. It may also make the touch functions of the screen stop working.
  • Lightly spray a cloth or paper towel with a minimal amount of water. 
    • Do NOT spray the laptop. 
    • Do NOT use a cleaner with bleach

To clean the keyboard:

• Turn the laptop off
• Flip the laptop upside-down and shake it slightly
• Use a soft brush or compressed air to clean out loose debris
